Abus 4003318 19005 6 Granite Detecto Electronic Chain Lock/Brake Disc Lock – 47in. x 12mm – Yellow

I did a ton of research when deciding to buy a lock and finally decided on this one. No lock is invulnerable to an experienced thief (no chain will last 1 minute against a battery powered grinder) so the added security from the disc lock and alarm are far more valuable to me than the thick chain but the chain still relieves some anxiety.The alarm/lock is heavy duty and seems reliable, you would either damage the bike or have to take a pretty good amount of time to cut it off. It can be semi-annoying to arm the alarm, it gives you about 5 seconds to put on before it starts to alarm but it’s dead simple to re-try without it screaming in your ear. It’s nice and loud and seems like it won’t go off with rain or wind.I also did research into the various key technologies available and Abus was among the few I heard were pretty much un-pickable.As long as I lock my bike up somewhere with a reasonable amount of people around, this set-up keeps the burning desire to check on my motorcycle at bay.More expensive than your average lock, cheaper than lo-jack, reliable, worth it to me.
